As part of the self-administration insolvency proceedings of DUROtherm Kunststoffverarbeitung GmbH, a sustainable solution for the company’s future has been achieved. The key assets and business operations of DUROtherm are being taken over by the swissplast® group and continued in a successor company.

The transaction creates the conditions to preserve the Haiterbach and Lindlar sites over the long term, to continue existing customer relationships and to secure a large share of the jobs. Business operations will continue without interruption.

The insolvency monitor and the creditors’ committee welcome the successful conclusion of the negotiations:

“With the industry solution that has been found, a sustainable perspective has been created for the company, its employees and its customers. The conditions for a successful continuation of business operations are in place.”

Barac Bieri and Ninyan Bieri of the swissplast® group explain:

“DUROtherm is a long-established company with strong technical expertise, dedicated employees and long-standing customer relationships. For us, it was clear from the outset that this is not only about production capacity, but about responsibility for people, customers and an entire industry.

The thermoforming industry needs entrepreneurs who take responsibility, especially in challenging times. Our goal is to develop the Haiterbach and Lindlar sites sustainably, to offer customers stability and to give employees a long-term perspective.

Over the coming days, we will actively reach out to customers, suppliers and other business partners. It is important to us to create clarity quickly, to strengthen trust and to tackle the next steps together. The past months have shown how important reliability, speed and open communication are. That is exactly what we stand for.”

Over the coming weeks, the integration of the Haiterbach and Lindlar sites will be driven forward with high priority and great commitment. The aim is to stabilize the organization quickly, to leverage synergies and at the same time to restore a high level of delivery capability and service quality. True to the swissplast® group’s guiding principle – “easy to deal with” – the transition is to be made as straightforward and transparent as possible for customers, employees, suppliers and other business partners.

For customers, suppliers and employees, business operations will continue without restriction. With the successful transaction, the path has been paved for the long-term further development of the Haiterbach and Lindlar sites within the swissplast® group.
