swissplast^® from Sargans, Switzerland, is pursuing a clear growth and product diversification strategy – and is now consistently continuing on this path. With the acquisition of k-tec GmbH (ktec.at) effective January 1, 2026, the group takes its next strategic step. The company, headquartered in Radstadt–Salzburg (Austria), specializes in the forming of transparent and semi-transparent plastics and is regarded as a recognized expert in optically high-quality components.

In the future, the company will operate under the name swissplast^® transparent Solutions GmbH. The highly precise plastic components manufactured in Radstadt–Salzburg, Austria are used in a wide range of demanding industries, including:

BOS vehicles (police, fire brigade, emergency services)
Construction, agricultural and municipal vehicle manufacturing
Ropeway and cabin industry
Architecture & design
Sports boat industry & aircraft construction

All employees at the Radstadt–Salzburg site will be fully retained and continue their employment.

The swissplast^® group announces the planned completion of an important milestone in the company’s history. As of 1 January 2026, Ninyan Bieri – previously COO – will assume overall responsibility for the group as CEO. He succeeds his father, Barac S. Bieri, who has built, shaped and developed the family business over the past 15 years into one of Europe’s largest and most innovative thermoforming specialists.

With this step, Ninyan Bieri will in future be responsible for the operational management of all sites in Sargans (CH), Ichenhausen (DE), Diedorf (DE) and Gotha (DE), and will also take on the role of Delegate of the Board of Directors. Barac S. Bieri is not stepping back: He is intensifying his involvement in Business Development and, as Chairman of the Board of Directors, will continue to lead the company strategically – with a focus on growth, internationalization and long-term ownership strategy.

A CEO of a new generation

Ninyan Bieri has been firmly rooted in the swissplast^® group for many years and has driven key modernization and growth initiatives during that time. His connection to the family company goes back to his childhood – even then, he helped in the family business.

Rather than following a traditional management career path, he deliberately chose to progress through the shop floors. He spent at least one year working at each site and took on a wide range of roles – from design engineer to project manager to COO, a position he has held for the past three years with a clear operational footprint.

This unusually broad experience in modern manufacturing, digitalization, product development and customer relations now provides the ideal foundation to confidently advance the swissplast^®-strategy in the years ahead.

High-speed expertise for the rail industry – a swissplast experience report

68 new parts in just 16 weeks

The swissplast group realized the complete interior cladding for a European streetcar project of a well-known train manufacturer (Stadler Rail) – from side and passageway cladding to rear wall cladding.

Only 16 weeks passed between the signing of the LOI and the delivery of all parts for the first train composition.

Engineering in record time

In just 7 weeks, our experts developed and designed 68 complex components including 3D and 2D data creation – with the highest demands on vertical integration, including integrated ventilation guidance.

Toolmaking in parallel processes

At the same time, an impressive 17 cooled aluminum deep-drawing tools, high-precision CNC 5-axis trimming tools and a large number of gluing and assembly devices were created.

Special profiles & materials according to standard

Customer-specific aluminum extrusions, rubber profiles, fire-certified semi-finished products (EN 45545) and hundreds of sheet metal attachments – all perfectly coordinated and ready for component assembly.

Start of series production without detours

Due to the very tight schedule, the sample phase had to be dispensed with – and yet every part fitted technically right away. Compositions 2 and 3 were also delivered in full two weeks later.

With two experienced project managers and proven partners in the supply chain, the swissplast group efficiently guided the project to its goal.

Thanks to personnel support from other plants, products could be run in at the same time in the CNC department and assembly was completed smoothly. simple / fast / reliable.

455 children (47% girls) in 15 remote Shiksha Kendra (SK) have gained access to education. Almost half of them can now read, write and calculate – a big step towards a better future! 📚✏️
With creative learning materials and life skills workshops, we not only promote knowledge, but also important values such as environmental protection. 🌱
Teacher development: 16 teachers received further training in child protection, community work and pedagogy. 👩‍🏫
Thanks to a committed community and former pupils who provide encouragement, hope and opportunities are growing.
